LEONA MESSAJA

It was the night of the 17. of august 1969 when Leona saw the first glim of light on earth. Aswell it was the night of one of the biggest music events in the late 60's: WOODSTOCK!
From the beginning on inspired by JOAN BAEZ, later by MARY BLACK and the MAGIC MUSHROOMS she created her own music for guitar and voice.
She made her way from WOODSTOCK to IRELAND where the IRISH FOLK and the ROMANTIC, brought to her by living on the road as a busking gipsy travelling from festival to festival, visibly left their mystic prints.

"THE KETTLE IS BOILING
AND THE KIDS ARE IN BED
THE STEW HAS BEEN NICE
ONCE AGAIN
THE FIRE IS STILL BURNING
AND THE MOON IS STILL THERE
WHEN THERE ARE STORIES
TOLD BY THE MEN".

But her effort to increase the spirit to be able to live the most capable kindness of heart shows in her songs aswell as stories about lost love written by life itself.
Nevertheless there are social critical aspects mixed with Irony and Philosophy suggesting to look at things in different ways.

"SEE AROUND YOU
SEE WHAT I SEE
SEE THE HOUSE OF NATURE
SEE WITH ME
SEE AND TELL ME WHAT YOU
THINK ABOUT ME
WHEN YOU SEE THE TRUTH".

But always there is an easyness in her music lightening and softening the listener easing the path to his own heartpower.
Leona: "Through my music I try to find access to this kind of energy to be able to give back the love to people which has been given to me and still is and I hope to cause that the listener slows down to get in touch with his inner sound reconnecting to his energy of heart which is a gift we intend to loose nowadays".
