Siman Tov
EXTRA - Siman Tov is a project created in 2005 from the encounter between Martino Colicchio and Fabrizio Flisi who, after studying respectively clarinet and piano, fell for klezmer music of the Jews of Eastern Europe. Fabrizio took up his accordion and, together with Martino on the clarinet, started busking with few traditional klezmer pieces on repertory. The encounter with Tiziano Paganelli, who plays the accordion, the flute and many percussion instruments, has expanded Siman Tov's horizons. They played together at parties and busker festivals such as S. Sofia, Ludwigsburg, Cupello, Cremona buskers and the festival Adriatico Mediterraneo. At this point, the double bass player Nicolo' Fiori joined in, enriching the overwhelming rhythm of the group with his four strings. Though Klezmer music is characterized by simple and easy-to-dance rhythm, the Siman Tov have produced innovative pieces rearranging them with creativity and originality. Their repertoire expanded, including some Balkan songs and original pieces, which have been recorded in various cds. They performed all around Italy and Europe, meeting with great success. The last component of the group, Gioele Sindona on the violin, joined in, bringing a breath of fresh air in klezmer sounds. Indeed, the sound of the violin (typical Tzigane instrument) merges completely together with that of clarinet. Among their concerts, at the Mama's in Ravenna in 2010 they recorded their live DVD. They will go a long way, in the name of klezmer music... SUITABLE FOR: ALL
