Sitting Duck
Chiringuito Paradise
Two barmen are preparing the opening for the Chiringuito Paradise party. Everything is ready for the opening. The guests have already come, the program is done, the champagne’s on ice so the party can start. An emotional duo trying to save the day through an apocalyptic mix made of catastrophic juggling, physical comedy and, of course, fireworks.
Chiringuito Paradise, directed by Christine Rossignol, is inspired by the physical comedy and the surprising clumsiness of the most famous clowns on the big screen like B. Keaton, C. Chaplin, P. Sellers, but equally by the simplicity and depth of a dramaturgy that recalls universal characters. This principle prompted Sitting Duck to develop a comic language that may be close to that of a slapstick comedy, but at the same time meets the requirements of a street show. The company uses the slapstick through a series of micro comic situations, placed in a scenario focused on chaos and failure. The exploit also plays an important role in the show. Falls, accidents, juggling and manipulation of objects add a spectacular touch to the performance.
