Baskery
Baskery
BASKERY is an American alternative-American folk-rock band from Sweden, consisting of sisters Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson. The three describe their musical style with terms such as killbilly, mud-country and banjo punk.
The band was formed in 2007 as an offshoot of Slaptones, in which their father Janåke Bondesson played drums. Their first album, released in 2008, "Fall Among Thieves", was recorded with producer Lasse Mårtén without overdubs or second takes, with the aim of capturing as much energy as possible. The band toured festivals in the United States, Canada, France, Ireland, Denmark and Norway, and in the same year played as a backing band on Seth Lakeman's UK tour. In 2011 they released their second album "New Friends", and in 2013 they performed in Germany as Ina Müller's opening band, before embarking on their own tour in the United States playing all over the country (The Birchmere in Virginia with Johnny Winter, Four Corners Folk Festival in Colorado and Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon). In 2014 they recorded their third studio album "Little Wild Life", with which they obtained a recording contract with Warner Bros.
In September 2014, the three sisters moved to Los Angeles, California, where in 2015 they were the backing band for Robbie Williams on his "Let Me Entertain You Tour", for Brandi Carlile, and for Gary Clark Jr. on his The Story of Sonny Boy Slim Tour. 2016/2017 saw the Baskery tour the length and breadth of the United States (Bottle Rock, Arroyo Seco, Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, SXSW and Utopia Fest). In 2018 they embarked on a toured full of dates in the United States, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Finland and England, opening for Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real on his German tour. The band's fourth studio album, "Coyote & Sirens", was released in 2018 and recorded at Glenwood Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles, with record producer Andrew Dawson.
