Folk Group Kacharipari
De Costa a Costa

Kacharipari was founded in 1994 in the city of Palmira, and directed by Mr. Janio Plaza, a person with a high level of sensitivity and knowledge of folklore and dance, who is moved by an artistic sense of belonging to the city and with the aim of promoting the dances and folklore of our region among the different communities.
Among its participations, from 1994 to 1996 the group served as a national champion in popular neighborhoods of its municipality, such as 20 de Julio, Maria Cano, Zamorano, and Coronado, until 1997, when it began to make inroads into municipal, departmental, and national events.
The Kacharipari group has received several regional and departmental awards. It has also participated in numerous national events since its inception and has won several important dance competitions in Colombia, including:
- 1999. First place in the second municipal and regional Colombian Dance Competition, Florida Valle del Cauca.
- 2000. First place in the third municipal and regional Colombian Dance Competition, Florida Valle del Cauca.
It has also received recognition for cultural management for the rescue of the traditions at the departmental and national levels. "Palmira Valle Mayor's Office."

The show De costa a Costa (From Coast to Coast) consists of a journey that will showcase, from coast to coast, dances from the Colombian Pacific and Atlantic, each with its own idiosyncrasy and representation of the arrival of the Spanish who enslaved the indigenous race.
