Caterina Fort

Caterina Fort is a dancer of earth and air, curious about everything related to expression through movement. Passionate about an endless variety of disciplines, from swimming to surfing to dance (Floorwork, Classical, Contact, Butoh...) to yoga to theater and circus, she collaborates as a performer with Side Kunst Cirque/My! Laika in "La Soirèe" and "Domoi," has been part of the Circo Paniko collective, is co-founder of the companies Le Mafalde ("la Gonna Abitata") and Duo sulla Falsariga ("La Vida Rosa"), and has been a teacher of movement research and aerial technique for Spazio Nu, Circo Tascabile, and numerous schools throughout Italy that have hosted her workshops.

Ida Est is a danced and twisted theatrical foray by and with Caterina Fort, an out-of-the-box character, over the top, under the bench, standing on a table, prey to her feeling, in need of relationship and fearful of the other. A character like so many among the different ones that dwell around us and within us, capable, only, of extra-ordinary actions, non-corresponding to completely arbitrary but present patterns. Ida is the neighborhood madwoman, loved and despised, like a magnet. Ida needs space-time to let go in a zigzagging physical-emotional Exploration, involving people, elements and floors, in search of a momentary, fleeting, im-possible balance. Ida can inhabit squares, beaches, paved and unpaved roads, markets, festivals, festivals.
