Centre de Titelles de Lleida

Centre de Titelles de Lleida was born in 1986, led by Joan-Andreu Vallvé and Julieta Agustí, with the desire to become an organization that creates and disseminates the art of puppetry. This private entity, located in the former convent of Santa Teresa, of the City of Lleida, in addition to the support of this institution, also enjoys the support of the Diputació de Lleida, the Generalitat of Catalonia, and the Ministry of Culture. 

In its years of history it has developed an extensive activity of producing and co-producing performances, and organizing courses, exhibitions, events and festivals, including the Lleida Puppet Theater Fair, and the Performing Arts Book Fair.

KUJIRA – Did you know that whales also sing and cry? 
Kujira, a blue whale, the largest and strongest animal that has ever lived on earth, cries as he watches us deteriorate this wonderful planet. Kujira has embarked on a long journey to have her cry and song heard among humans. A song of alarm against climate change, pollution and over-exploitation of the planet's resources. Accompany her on this journey and make her cry loudly. A traveling show where a towering blue whale makes its way through the city making its song heard.

A song about life and respect for the environment, questioning the viewer about collective responsibility toward the climate emergency. Its physical and voluminous majesty, compared to the fragility of its structure and materials, exemplifies how the immensity of nature is sustained by a delicate balance of the ecosystem.
