As part of the PICE-Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture promoted by Acción Cultural Española, which supports the internationalization of Spanish culture, we will host the Cia Ortiga, a young artistic collective that combines puppetry, comic theater and plastic arts.
Ortiga is an artistic group based in Banyoles, born in 2016 after the meeting between different artistic and social projects. His work and research revolve around the performing arts, shows, experiences, courses and actions in the area. The main objective is to generate ecological and social awareness, help restore degraded territories together with their inhabitants and investigate the synergies between art, tradition, science and philosophy in order to find new forms of relationship with the environment. Art, with its symbolic capacity, opens us to the emotion necessary to remake and invent new collective imaginaries, vital for an ecological and social awareness.
The show Kumulunimbu focuses on the themes of migration, injustice and hope. It won the best scenography award at the Lleida Festival; the Drac D'Or for best dramaturgy and the prize for best show at the FIMO-Festival De Titelles d'Ovar.
Kumulunimbu is the story of a friendship between a girl and a cloud, that speaks of courage, injustice, migration and the continuous hope of its protagonists. A show that will captivate the little ones and move those somewhat older, where the puppets and the clown are brought together, full of details, humour, criticism and surprises, where poetry will take you on a voyage of emotions.
