Col.lectiu La Diògenes

La Diògenes is a company of physical and object theater founded in Barcelona in 2022 by Pau Garcia and Laia Campamá, which arose out of the need to explore and experiment with corporeal mime, object manipulation, and puppets, amongst other disciplines.

The company began with the debut of their current show, “Folie á Deux”, at the Festival Rombic 2022 in Ateneu Nou Barris from Barcelona, to a warm reception by the audience and other theater professionals. Sharing both acting and directing duties, both members thus launched their own vocabulary and characteristic brand based especially in the expressive capabilities of the hands.

With this first production, La Diógenes intends to dive into a world of infinite possibilities and collaborate with other artists and collectives to further enrich their vocabulary, mixing corporeal mime, dance, puppetry and the manipulation of objects.

FOLIE À DEUX

What happens to the words that we never say? Do they remain within us? Or do they fly away? The two characters onstage have so much to tell each other that they don’t even know how to speak.
Trapped in silence, what they don’t know is that the truest words are always found within. Those “I love you” and “stay with me” that were never uttered may just need a pair of legs with which to come out. In this nonverbal world, they will seek to share their madness once more and to have that final dance.
