Halfway between contemporary jazz, carnival trance, and club techno beats, FÜLÜ brings to the stage a hybrid, narrative, and danceable sound world. The group was formed in September 2019 on the initiative of Lilli Stefani and Charlie Roitel, when seven musicians of French and Italian origin met while attending music schools and performing in Toulouse.

It happens to FÜLÜ to take animal appearances to tell, through music, voice and bodies, the stories of the wild spirit. Mixing a brass section with electronic sounds, the band offers a lush sound universe by weaving a link between current jazz, the percussive trance of carnivals and the mesmerizing rhythms of techno clubs. A voice, sometimes Italian, sometimes French, whispers the dreams of the previous night, yells our daily struggles, and invites us to abandon ourselves to dance.

FÜLÜ is a wild and initiatory tale that opens the door to an imaginary and dreamlike world, suspended between urban jungle and anthropomorphic nature, where ancestral rituals and folk legends are in constant dialogue with urban reality and contemporary struggles.

One of the project’s core ideas is to blend artistic disciplines. From the very beginning, the group decided to open its ranks to artists from different backgrounds, allowing for professional development in all aspects of the project and a collective reflection that expands the field of artistic possibilities. While offering lush and experimental compositions, FÜLÜ gives ample space to storytelling, dance, and imagination, ensuring that the project remains relevant, emotionally engaging, and able to speak to as many people as possible.
