The band was born in November 2016 from the meeting of long-time musician friends Vouloute, Tonton Mama, PiouPiou, and Bilou, united by the desire to share an innovative and exhilarating artistic project—embracing their origins and musical influences, from punk to hip-hop to electro. At the heart of the project is a shared desire to personally and professionally engage with music as a means to share, move, denounce, and marvel together.
One year after forming, the band received support from Novata Records and the meticulous work of Bockay Studio to release their first record as a free download, Les Aventures de Supermalt: a five-track EP dedicated to satirizing a neurotic society in search of salvation, while promoting values of unity and togetherness.
In 2018, with the help of Houari BESSADET from Cie Non Négociable and after a week-long residency at Moulin de Brainans, a SMAC in the Jura region, they created the musical show Les Forces De l'Orge, featuring over a dozen original compositions that humorously address current socio-cultural and political issues.
In November 2019, the band released their second EP, Maltage Intégral: decidedly punk, unmistakably hip-hop, and definitively rock. This record tells the story of the wildest comedian in your region, using humor and irony. In 2023, they released their third studio album, Plus De Peur Que De Malt, infused with protest punk and hip-hop energy. From the Red Army’s choirs to kepi-style funk, the band jumps across styles to deliver a festive rebellion and songs that push back against resignation. From the sweat of beer cans to the depths of the party, these cheerful musicians proudly claim to be part of a political-cultural movement—combining biting lyrics with comic poetry.
