Hathi

A big elephant walks firm and majestic on the city. He walks with a guide and carer person and goes over around the world encouraging respect for the animals and nature. In its country of origin, India, the elephant is a much-respected animal and for many people he is sacred.
An itinerant show that wants to captivate everyone with the physical majesty of this animal. Its elegant walk to the rhythm of the Hindu music, takes you to the jungle where he was born. Nevertheless, do not be afraid of Hathi, he is very kind if you treat him with love and respect.
Centre de Titelles de Lleida was born in 1986, led by Joan-Andreu Vallvé and Julieta Agustí, with the desire to become an organization that creates and disseminates the art of puppetry. This private entity, located in the former convent of Santa Teresa, of the City of Lleida, in addition to the support of this institution, also enjoys the support of the Diputació de Lleida, the Generalitat of Catalonia, and the Ministry of Culture.
In its years of history it has developed an extensive activity of producing and co-producing performances, and organizing courses, exhibitions, events and festivals, including the Lleida Puppet Theater Fair, and the Performing Arts Book Fair.
With the support of Institut Ramon Llull.
