A human figure, inhabited by an inner urgency and intent only on following the flow of its own thoughts, is enclosed within a greenhouse-cage that becomes a “gestational chamber” for the self. For this to happen, this figure must take time — an essential and indispensable element in every gestation.

The inside of the greenhouse thus becomes a barely visible, liminal space where every certainty wavers and the individual is forced to remain. It is within this suspension that thought is transformed into action, taking on the risk of crossing through its own contradictions. A female figure appears and disappears like a vision: a disturbing presence that provokes, wounds, and pushes the imprisoned figure toward its own limen. Is it possible to let oneself be crossed by that infinite tension, nourished by the contradictions of the human soul, which constitutes the essence of every existence? Will this human figure manage to leave its own greenhouse? Desire — the only rigor that human beings should know — where could it be better worshipped than from within a cloud? Here we are, then, in the opaque room where everything is unknown to us.

Il Nido was born from the encounter between Enrico Battarra, Emanuele Pratelli, and Letizia Monti as a collective for theatrical research and creation, bringing together the different experiences and studies each of us has developed across various artistic fields.
