Kamchàtka
INCONTINUO

Kamchàtka presents a participatory experience, an encounter that goes beyond borders, a poetic statement, a tribute to the courage of all those who have left their homes in search of a new place. An open rehearsal, born out of an artistic residency, taking shape as an immersive, participatory and nocturnal performance.
Incontinuo places the theme of continuity at its core: since the very beginning, human beings have moved in search of better living conditions, and they continue to do so without pause. Movement is an essential part of human nature.
The performance highlights the importance and beauty of movement, while not overlooking its hardship or the tragedies that often accompany it, many of them the result of repressive migration policies and the existence of borders. It takes shape as a hymn to courage, a celebration of the value of all those who, by choice or necessity, have left their place of origin in search of a better future.
The intention is to create a shared and collective moment: a space in which to watch, to feel together, and to celebrate. In this shared experience lies a possible force for the future: a future imagined without borders or forced returns.
The performance presents itself as a cathartic, emotional, and epic act, in which the narrative is transformed. A space where the symbolic dimension invites people to feel part of a conscious community, capable of recognising and valuing this audacity. A living community, willing to be touched and moved, and aware of the need to celebrate in order to keep fighting together, in real life as well.

Kamchàtka is an immersive and contextual theatre collective based in Catalonia, active since 2006 and made up of artists from different countries. Their creations emerge in public space and in unconventional venues, developing a poetic, wordless, and deeply immersive language in which the audience becomes an essential part of the dramaturgy. At the heart of their research are human movement, memory, the gaze, and the relationship between bodies, places, and communities.
Over the years, Kamchàtka has presented its performances in 37 countries, with more than 500 shows, establishing itself as one of the most recognisable companies in contemporary street theatre. Their work has received major international recognition, including two MAX Awards for Best Street Performance, for Alter and Fugit — an achievement that made the company the first ever to win this award twice in the same category. In 2023, Alter was also named by the British newspaper The Guardian as one of the ten best performances of the year.
