The street is transformed into a jungle, with natural sounds in the background: the ritual begins. An “Aztec” Mexican performer combines fire and percussion, using musical and ritual instruments from Mexican Aztec culture in a unique, ancient style that takes the audience back in time.

This is not simply a fire show: it is a ritual in which fire is the main performer. Fire, an age-old ancestral fear, is confronted and exalted through the artist’s skill, while the rhythm of his drums surrounds us and carries us on an imaginary journey to his distant land. Through his own artistic language, and with tribal movements and dances, he evokes the most revered ancient spirits of Aztec culture, such as the eagle, the jaguar, and the feathered serpent. The artist, known as “Quetzal,” a mythological figure in Aztec culture, creates his performance with the intention of expressing, conveying, and embodying the importance of the healing energy of fire.
