The doors of the villa open. Seven bodies, turning a spectacle out of their everyday lives, guide you through their dusty world suspended between faded memories and relentless decay. Time stagnates, circles around, twists back onto itself, and, to ward off boredom, they devote themselves to the most refined pastimes. Amid sadistic acrobatics, rigged games, and futile provocations, Elogio alla noia stands on stately sonic foundations and the physical language of contemporary circus, merging with a skilfully sculpted dramaturgy of space. Luxury becomes constraint. Privilege becomes an exercise in survival. The performance repeats itself. Always the same. Always different. Like boredom. Like life.

Founded in Turin in 2011, MagdaClan is one of Italy’s most beloved contemporary circus companies. The collective is made up of more than twenty people, including acrobats, musicians, and production crew, and continues to pursue the dream of spreading wonder through contemporary circus, with a poetic, ironic, and multifaceted language.

The company is known for its innovative artistic research and the professionalism of its members, both recognised by critics and supported by the MiC, the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin, and many other institutions. With eight large-scale collective productions and four solo works to its name, MagdaClan has pitched its blue big top in more than 140 cities and has been presented at major national and international festivals and theatres. It also organises in Monferrato the Fantasy – Contemporary Circus Festival and Mon Circo – Workshop of the Living Arts.
