Venolta is an autumn festival born three years ago from the collaboration between Ultimo Punto and Chiocciola la Casa del Nomade, with the aim of reclaiming the style of old rural dances — the evening gathering dances typical of this area (ballo in sia, manfrina, furlena) — in the hope that they may once again become part of today’s community celebrations across the region. To pursue this goal, we will bring a small selection of Venolta’s content into the Artisti in Piazza programme and make it available to the festival audience.
In this way, you will be able to relive the atmosphere of the evening gatherings of the past, bringing local dances, music, songs, and memories back into the present. Throughout the afternoon, in different locations, and then at night at Giardino di Fra, you will rediscover the convivial spirit of the traditional veglia through music, ancient dances, dance-games, ballroom dances, and songs, with the participation of local musicians, witnesses from another time, dancers, players, and the festival audience, accompanied by the Compagnia di Viva el Ball!
